Urological research and skills night
Zein Alhamdani
YURO’s first Urological research and skills night was an absolute success. The night started off with Romy Mondschein's presentation on essential skills and knowledge for urology residents, and how to make the most of one's urology rotation. Sean Ong and Jonathan O’Brien shared their stories about research, how they’ve ended up in urology and tips and tricks for getting involved in research. Next, split into four groups, the future urologists were given tasks to hone their surgical skills. Skills sessions included suturing, SPC and IDC insertion and laparoscopic skills. There was an excellent case-based session on haematuria and clot retention before supper sponsored by the AstraZeneca team. Well done to the YURO team -we are looking forward to holding further clinical and research events in the future.
