Urological Skills and Research Night 2023
The Young Urology Researchers Organisation (YURO) is an organisation of junior medical staff and medical students dedicated to providing research opportunities and education to fellow urologically-inclined junior doctors and doctors-in-training.
Last year we conducted our inaugural Urological Skills and Research Night, where we combined seminars from experienced researchers with clinical skills teaching delivered by YURO committee members. The event was a major success, attracting dozens of junior medical staff and senior medical students and providing a unique opportunity for those interested in a career in urology.
We hope to replicate this success in 2023 with a bigger, better Urological Skills and Research Night. This year we have talks on 1. getting started with urological research 2. career pathways in urology and 3. essential skills and knowledge for urological interns and residents. On top of that , we have stations to practice your clinical and surgical skills.
Come join us! FREE ADMISSION (limited spots) and FREE FOOD!! :D

23rd Asia-Pacific Prostate Cancer Conference
We are proud to present the 23rd Asia-Pacific Prostate Cancer Conference to be held on the 18 - 20 August, 2023 in Cairns. Over many years the conference has grown to now be one of the largest comprehensive prostate cancer meetings in the world.
We are in the process of creating a dynamic and invigorated scientific program with both local and world leaders who will bring their knowledge and experience to discuss all facets of prostate cancer management, treatment and scientific advancement. The program will include streams in Clinical Urology, Translational Science, Multidisciplinary Prostate Cancer Management and Allied health, ensuring the most contemporary information and research-validated findings are presented. There will also be many end-user-oriented masterclasses and satellite symposia in association with our key opinion leaders. We encourage new research from home and abroad to be shared.
After an extended break between conferences, we are very excited to reunite with old friends and colleagues, and form new connections and collaborations. Since we were last in Cairns in 2015, the Cairns Convention Centre has undergone a $176 million expansion and refurbishment, and we are delighted to be hosting the conference in this beautiful part of Australia.
38th Annual EAU Congress
For our 38th Annual Congress we are returning to Italy’s fashion capital after previous successful editions in 2008 and most recently in 2013. EAU23, to be held on 10-13 March, 2023 also marks a return to a spring congress after three consecutive summer editions.
The four-day scientific programme includes live surgery, state-of-the-art lectures, case discussions and debates. Thousands of abstracts are submitted each year by emerging scientists and the EAU offers hundreds of them a chance to present their research. The Annual Congress is also an opportunity for young urologists to attend educational courses by the European School of Urology, and to hone their surgical skills through a variety of hands-on-training workshops.
EAU23 will feature a vast Exhibition where pharmaceutical and technology companies can showcase their latest products. For this edition, we are also including patient and nursing speakers to the programme, emphasising the multidisciplinary nature of urology.

USANZ Vic Section Meeting 2022
We are excited to be convening the 2022 scientific meeting of the Victorian Section of the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand. This meeting has been a part of the urology professional development calendar for many decades and is an essential component of urology advanced trainee education in Victoria.
After more than 2 years of COVID restrictions, this will be the first face-to-face Victorian State Meeting since 2019 and we are looking forward to seeing a healthy turnout of urologists, urology nurses, trainees and junior doctors.
Urological Association of Asia Congress (UAA) 2022
The Urological Association of Asia Congress (UAA) 2022 is an important event in the regional and international Urology community calendar. Since its inception more than 30 years ago, the Congress has successfully provided a platform for experts to share information and network with their fellow medical practitioners, academics, and industry players
The Congress has traditionally attracted on average 1000 to 1500 delegates in past years, with the most recent in-person event taking place in Malaysia in 2019 and achieving more than 1700 delegates from 46 countries. We are hopeful that 2022, the first time the congress has been hosted in Australia, will see 800 to 1000 delegates attending from the Asia-Pacific, Australia and New Zealand, and other countries worldwide. USANZ has a distinguished reputation for the high quality of its annual scientific meetings, which regularly attract up to 800 participants from around the globe including world renowned speakers. The Congress theme is “Asian Urology – Together Towards Tomorrow”. The committee plans to use this opportunity to fortify the bridges already existing between the various UAA member associations, and to build up relationships with emerging new groups such as young urologists and other practitioners from around the Asia Pacific region, including those from developing nations.
